Fleire år som fastbuande i Sør-Korea har inspirert meg til nye uttrykksformer. Eg har lært tradisjonell koreansk måleteknikk med blekk på rispapir og bruk av handlaga koreansk papir ; Hanji. Den særeigne teksturen, fargane og kvaliteten til Hanji dannar saman med energien og krafta i blekkstreken nye abstrakte bilete, i eit uttrykk der form og fargar er sette opp mot kvarandre i transparente lag. Eg er opptatt av natur, samspel og endring, og arbeider intuitivt med å bryte ned og bygge opp. Drivkrafta er å utforske, våge å ikkje ha kontroll og vere open og undrande for det som oppstår. I tillegg til papircollage jobber eg med akrylmåling på lerret.
Visual artist. Painting and collage.
Several years’ residence in South Korea have inspired me to new forms of expression. I have learnt traditional Korean painting technique using ink on rice paper, and versatile use of the handmade Korean paper, Hanji. The Hanji`s unique quality, texture and natural colors together with the energy and power of the brush line, create new abstract images as form and colors are set up against each other in transparent layers. I am preoccupied with nature, interaction and change, and work intuitively with destruction and reconstruction. My driving-force is to explore daring to let go of control while being open to the new expressions emerging in the incontrollable. In addition to papercollage I also express artworks with acrylic on canvas.
